Coperni<\/a> waved its magic wand on Monday, becoming the first-ever fashion brand to present a collection at Disneyland Paris<\/a>. Design duo Sebastien Meyer and Arnaud Vaillant described the monumental SS25 showcase as a \u201cchildhood dream come true\u201d, recalling trips to the adventure park with their families as a formative part of their youth. And with just a little bit of pixie dust, that dream is cemented in the fashion history books.<\/p>\n

The display started out with a celebration of childlike imagination and curiosity. Emerging from the arches of Sleeping Beauty\u2019s castle, models sashayed amongst onlookers, donning Victorian brocade jackets with miniature Gigot sleeves and satin hotpants. Meyer and Vaillant breathed new life into the tales that made our childhoods, serving up a series of vintage graphic T-shirts plastered with icons of the Disney dynasty like Mickey and Minnie Mouse, The Snow White, Cinderella and Little Mermaid. These were paired with embellished shirts or Hawaiian shorts and fringe suede jackets and jeans. Crystal covered ensembles were wrapped with roses, recalling the enchanted rose from Beauty and the Beast. Others referenced the poison apple from Snow White or The Little Mermaid\u2019s aquatic wonderland. Some looks were adorned by featherlight flights of organza butterflies, as if beckoned by Cinderella\u2019s song, in a fantastical celebration of \u201cyouth, nostalgia and imagination\u201d.<\/p>\n

Then came The Villains. Bust-cuts and hoods mimicked the curved horns of \u2018mistress of evil\u2019 Maleficent or took their shape from Sleeping Beauty\u2019s tiara. One sequin-swathed dress tapped into classic fairytale tropes like the tattered fabrics that transform into to-die-for ball gowns.<\/p>\n

The final promenade of Coperni princesses, backdropped by bursting fireworks, was surprisingly simple, free from embellishment and conspicuous glamour, yet enchantingly opulent. Plain black mini dresses were paired with colossal duchess sleeves and catsuits with candy-coloured bouffant skirts \u2013 one on each leg.<\/p>\n

Kylie Jenner closed the show, and September fashion month,\u00a0in a flattering black ball gown with a full, crinoline skirt. It was the fash pack\u2019s happily ever after.\u00a0A dream is a wish Coperni makes.<\/p>\n
